2 min readA legendary chief in the broadcast television and business enterprise planet, and a large part of our results at WPLG, has died. Tom Murphy died Wednesday at his home in New York at the age of 96.
Murphy was Chairman and Main Govt Officer of Cash Cities and oversaw the $3.5 billion merger with ABC in 1985. 10 a long time later, Murphy declared the $19 billion merger of Capital Towns/ABC with The Walt Disney Organization.

Murphy served on the board of administrators for Disney right up until 2004.

Murphy’s wife, Suzanne Crosby Murphy, passed away in 2009. He is survived by 4 youngsters and by nine grandchildren.
