The Marshalltown Town Council is anticipated to approve contracts for marketing the neighborhood on several mediums.

Eyesight Marshalltown and electronic advertising company OnMedia have agreed to function with each other to build marketing materials for the city.

The partnership will fill the void still left following McTV went off the air. McTV, a cable tv channel which broadcast council conferences and marketed Marshalltown, was on the air for 30 yrs. The council funded the operation of McTV with $40,000 of council-specified neighborhood choice income tax. The Iowa Valley Group University District was the foundation of operations for McTV but did not renew its agreement with the station this calendar year.

A committee was fashioned following the town set out a request, seeking another person to find new marketing and advertising. The committee was designed up of Council Member Bill Martin, Marshalltown Public Library Director Sarah Rosenblum, City Clerk Alicia Hunter, Fireplace Chief David Rierson and Human Sources Director Jill Petermeier.

There were 9 applicants but three did not post proposals which had been significantly less than the $40,000 finances. Of the 6 remaining, OnMedia and Eyesight Marshalltown were being the best suits. • $1,500 — Build OnMedia written content and assistance control property

• $3,500 — Contingency for other advertising and marketing ideas or ability to improve a single of the other parts

OnMedia’s proposal involves audio and several display screen advertising and marketing campaigns.

“This is a multiscreen system so that we can arrive at men and women in several capacities,” claimed Michael Sills, account executive with OnMedia. “Whether it be utilizing computer systems, doing streaming for televisions, streaming for audio, regular cable Television set. So we can get to most people inside the Marshalltown group.”

The council voted 4-1 in favor of returning to the Aug. 9 meeting with two contracts not to exceed $20,000 each for OnMedia and Vision Marshalltown. The contracts will be on the agenda to approve.

“They with each other are assembly our criteria for what we desired to reach all segments of the group,” Bill Martin explained. “Both bring a superior record and top quality perform to this project. I applaud the hard work that has gone into this.”
