Rupee depreciattes 16 paise to 73.07 from US dollar in early trade

The Indian rupee slumped 16 paise to 73.07 towards the US greenback in opening trade on Friday right after the Reserve Lender saved coverage costs unchanged for the sixth time in a row.


Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday resolved to leave benchmark fascination level unchanged at 4 per cent but managed an accommodative stance amid the next COVID wave.







At the interbank foreign exchange, the rupee opened lessen at 73.00 from the dollar and missing more ground to touch 73.07, registering a fall of 16 paise over its prior shut.


On Thursday, the rupee experienced settled at 72.91 towards the US dollar.


RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das mentioned the Financial Policy Committee (MPC) voted unanimously for preserving fascination charge unchanged and decided to carry on with its accommodative stance as extended as needed to guidance growth and keep inflation within the target.
